My FISHBONE EARRINGS are featured as part of the costume design for the character, Elsa, in the feature film The Menu.
The movie premiered in theaters back in the fall of 2022 and has just dropped on Netflix, currently ranked in their top 10.
Me being a total geek when it first premiered in theaters
It was such a thrill to have my Fishbone Earrings worn by the gifted actress, Hong Chau, in every scene. There are no costume changes since it all takes place in one day. The edgy bone earrings that I crafted from collected beach specimens seem perfectly aligned with her character.

I loved this quote from Bon Appetit. "From the moment that comedy thriller The Menu starts, I knew that, as a food person, I was about to be dragged. Like hard."

The Menu features many behind the scenes for artisan food preparation, so here's a couple of steps for making the Fishbone Earrings using the lost wax casting process.
Original bones that were transformed into the Fishbone Earrings
Wax injection molds of Fishbones, for earring pair

Metal version of Fishbones, made into post earrings in silver with a blackened finish

If you are like me...and the daily news is one horror show after another...you might find a very well-made horror/satire film like The Menu to be a welcoming form of rage therapy.
