Equine motifs have been featured in my design story for many years. I wanted to share some examples from the past, present day and perhaps future horse inspired jewelry pieces. I also wanted to share the news of a sale that I just curated in my Creature Collection, which includes a few horse designs.
I've always loved horses, but have never had my own horse. As I write this, I can easily view an abstract painting of a horse hanging in my studio. I live not too far from an equestrian center and the shed in my backyard had been a pony shed with the owners before me. I, like many animal lovers, feel a real kinship with this majestic, beautiful beast.

Several years ago, I made a series of thin cuff bracelets with some of my small charm designs. There was a horse, along with a snail and sheep. I loved the idea of a clean silhouette of these charms instead of the typical hanging charm design.
Horse Bas Relief Cigar Band, Bespoke Project
I made this bespoke bas relief style Horse Signet Ring in recycled 14 karat yellow gold for my client, Debra, a few years ago. Her late husband had been an equine vet and she wanted a chunky ring design with a horse motif to wear in his memory.
This is Debra's text after she received her ring:
Wanted to tell you I love my ring!!! The texture that you made with the diamond bit makes it look like satin! It is just beautiful! Thanks for knowing what I wanted before I did!!!

The Horse Cuff Bracelet and the bespoke project for Debra's Horse Bas Relief Cigar Band are designs that I've created in the past. They both use the same filly motif, but with very different results.
Moving on to present day, there are horse designs in my CREATURE COLLECTION. This is also where I've launched a sale as we gallop our way into 2026.

As we make plans in this new year, perhaps there's a bespoke project that you'd like to work with me on that may include a horse motif in the design. One of my goals for this year is to develop a halo of gemstones capsule collection, using small charm design motifs that already exist in collections with accents of gemstones. This capsule collection takes inspiration from a few bespoke projects that I've had the opportunity to work on with clients.

In 2024, I made two pairs of earrings for my friend, Nicole. You can read more about the creation of these earrings in my journal. I've shared a link to each project below. Both of the bespoke earrings have inspired me to sketch a few designs that include motifs like the horse with gemstones. A bespoke project would be a fantastic way to bring this rough sketch into something lovely like Nicole's earrings.
